Video is taking over the Internet. This year, 74% of all online traffic will belong to online video viewing. That number is expected to grow to at least 80% by 2019.

In fact, 55% of people watch videos online every day!

It’s not just limited to websites either. Social media is full of videos. Facebook sees 500 million people watch videos daily, and nearly 45% of people watch more than an hour of video per week on Facebook or YouTube. 82% of Twitter users watch video content on the website.

According to a recent Google study, 92% of prospective homebuyers use the Internet to look for a home. 87% use a real estate agent. Not to worry though, according to that same Google study, 85% of homebuyers and sellers say they prefer to work with a real estate agent who utilizes video!

You can’t sell a home without inquiries, right? Well, a home listing that includes video gets more than four times the number of inquiries when compared to a listing without video. It’s not just for the big, multi-million dollar homes.

If you send email blasts with listings, a video in an email doubles the click-through rate and the number of opt-outs drops substantially by 75%.

Don’t just settle for video of the home though. Yes, the home tour is important. 70% of people who watch real estate videos are doing so to see the inside of the home. But 86% of the people who watch these videos are looking  for what the community is like. They want to see what else their purchase will get them besides what is inside the home.
